The Most Important Things to Know Before You Go to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
You need a reservation until June 24th. Didn’t score one online when reservations opened May 2nd? You can still get in, all Disney Parks hotel guests are allowed one Galaxy’s Edge reservation per registered guest. You still need to buy a theme park ticket. There are hotel rooms available at Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian. Paradise Pier appears to be sold out.
Head to the Launch Bay in Tomorrow Land at least 30-45 minutes before your reservation time, bring ID for the adults on the reservation. You will need to check in, show your ID and get wristbands. You only get 4 hours in Galaxy’s Edge, don’t waste any of it signing in.
IMMEDIATELY get in line for the virtual lines at Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop (if you want to build a $199 light saber) We waited until we had been in Galaxy’s Edge for 30 minutes before we got in line to get a virtual reservation at the Cantina, the line was closed and we didn’t get to go.
Smuggler’s Run, the Millennium Falcon ride, is open but not on FastPass. The single rider line has shorter wait times, but you won’t be allowed to be a pilot. The graphics are amazing and I “might” have been a little teary eyed about the whole thing.
The Droids are a lot more fun than the light sabers, and $100 less, BUT it’s a physical line, not a virtual line. Get in it early.
Blue milk tastes better than green, and it’s all dairy free.
Put in a mobile order at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (you’ll need to have the Disney App on your phone). The food is very allergy friendly, the Felucian Garden salad is plant based, tasty and filling. Kombucha nuts can even enjoy Batuubucha Tea. There’s plenty of space to eat quickly and get back to the fun.
Talk back to the First Order and Kylo Ren, if you get lucky, they’ll get physical with you.
You are only allowed to buy one item of Galaxy’s Edge exclusive merchandise per person. To purchase two of the Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes musical toys I had to go find my husband to purchase the second one.
Here’s the inside scoop on when the reservation period ends on June 24th. Once you have entered the park you can get a virtual boarding pass to visit Galaxy’s Edge. How quickly they will sell out and how crowded the land will be is anyone’s guess. Hotel guests will no longer have special access. Book a Disney VIP Tour and while they can’t say they guarantee you’ll get access, you’ll get access.
