For my birthday I’m giving one lucky reader a week in my Instagram life. You know, the fancy life where I pose with cocktails in hand someplace fabulous and it’s as if I don’t have four children to feed, dogs to walk and deadlines to meet. You get that week.
Curtain Bluff
Those of you who follow me know that Curtain Bluff in Antigua is one of my all time favorite getaways. This magically timeless retreat is just a four hour nonstop flight from New York but a world away.
Built in the 1960s, this iconic resort still exudes that classic Slim Aarons feel. The owner Chelle putts around in her fringe topped golf cart checking on guests like a hen tends to her chicks. At Curtain Bluff living is effortless, all meals are included, but this is not some crummy buffet affair, the food is gourmet and the service is top notch. Even the cocktails are included, and the doting staff will deliver them to you while you lounge on a floatie in the Caribbean sea.
This is the spa-they have wine and champagne here too…. getting why I love this place?
Watersports – and cocktails
Not only are food and drink (seriously-all the cocktails) included at Curtain Bluff, so are all water sports. Want to go waterskiing? Just walk down to the beach and ask one of the chill dudes at the desk to take you out. Mad skillz not included in giveaway. Want to snorkel? The boat leaves from the dock twice a day, just be on it. No room charge, no reservation, the coral reef is a short ride away and they provide all of the equipment.
Tennis
Tennis lessons are not included, but my lucky birthday winner gets a lesson with my favorite pro Nigel. I know, it’s not right to have favorites, but wait until you meet him. He’s like a teddy bear with a killer serve and an infectious way of telling you that the shot you missed was just “bad luck.”
And who wouldn’t want to play tennis here? Check out this view from the courts:
If you’re a huge tennis geek, you can even head down during one of their Fantasy Tennis Weeks. Wondering what the tennis weeks are like? You can read my post here.
But Wait – There’s More
I’m not sending you to Antigua empty handed, included in the giveaway are a few of my favorite things:
Letarte Rash Guard
A super cute rash guard from my favorite swimwear brand Letarte. I”m taking this one to surf camp in Nicaragua this week, we will ship same or similar to the big winner. You can see more of their boho chic clothes HERE.
Hamsa Bracelet from Back 40 Mercantile
I fell in love with the hamsa in Dubai. The hamsa hand (Arabic) or hamesh hand (Hebrew) is an old and still popular apotropaic amulet for magical protection from the envious or evil eye. The words hamsa and hamesh mean “five” and refer to the digits on the hand. This bracelet is gold and turquoise and from my favorite store the Back 40 Mercantile.
Married Sex – a Novel by Jesse Kornbluth
Every beach getaway needs a great read. My latest fave is Married Sex by my friend Jesse Kornbluth. I took it to Curtain Bluff on my last trip and can tell you that it paired nicely with rum punch. Read more HERE.
The winner will be announced October 1 at noon eastern time. Entries close at midnight on September 30.
